Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport is reporting that AC Milan are readying an official proposal for Napoli midfielder Blerim Dzemaili.
The Rossoneri desperately need to sign a quality midfielder since captain Riccardo Montolivo will not be returning from injury until December.
And five years since they first laid eyes on Dzemaili, Milan officials look ready to reignite their interest.
The Switzerland international is seen as a perfect candidate, having proved his worth during the six years in Serie A, and he is well within club’s price range.
Since his contract at Stadio San Paoli is due to expire in just over a year, Dzemaili should be available for between €3m and €4m, while the Rossoneri would even be able to offer him a minor pay rise on the €1.3 million he is currently earning per season.
Dzemaili, who has 18 goals in 165 Serie A appearances, has already scored one goal for Switzerland at the 2014 World Cup, with his side 10/3 to pip Argentina to a place in the quarter-finals.
