Italian giants AC Milan are stepping up their efforts to sign French forward Hatem Ben Arfa from Nice, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Rossoneri have been closely monitoring the player’s performances this season and they have decided to try and lure him to San Siro.
With Ben Arfa’s contract at Allianz Riviera due to expire at the end of the current campaign, he has emerged as a top target for AC Milan.
The Rossoneri officials have made the initial contact with the player’s representatives and they could soon come forward with an official proposal.
AC Milan coach Sinisa Mihajlovic likes the fact that Ben Arfa can be used across a number of positions in the final third and he could replace compatriot Jeremy Menez, who is being linked with a summer exit.
The former PSG winger proved to be one of club’s best signing in years, having scored 16 goals in 38 league outings since arriving on a free transfer, and they believe Ben Arfa would be a very good replacement for the 28-year-old.
