La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that AC Milan have stepped up their efforts to sign striker Mattia Destro from AS Roma.
The Rossoneri are desperately short of options up front after Stephan El Shaarawy suffered an injury and they are determined to lure the Italy international to Stadio San Siro before the winter transfer window closes.
The two sides are currently negotiating a deal, but everything suggests Destro will be joining Milan on loan until the end of the season, with obligatory buy-out clause to be included.
Up until recently, the talented forward was considered non-transferable at Stadio Olimpico, but with the Giallorossi hot on the trail of Shakhtar’s Luiz Adriano, they seem ready to let him leave.
Destro, 23, is desperate to leave Roma in search of first team football and he is likely to be tempted by the prospect of moving to AC Milan, who are 4/7 favourites to see off Parma next weekend.
