AC Milan’s search for a defender has led them to Spartak Moscow stopper Radoslav Kovac, according to the player’s agent.

The Rossoneri are lacking options at the back after some major injuries and are determined to find cover for the coming season.

After failing to secure Chelsea starlet Branislav Ivanovic, they need to come up with a new target, and that man could be Kovac according to Channel4.com’s report.

The 28-year old Czech international can be used as a central defender or a holding midfielder and has hinted that he is looking for a chance in one of Europe’s biggest leagues.

The towering Kovac reportedly features on a number of teams’ shopping lists but his representative Pavel Zika, thinks he will be wearing a Milan shirt next term.

“Milan are after the player but we are still at the beginning of negotiations,” said Zika.
