AC Milan have joined the host of clubs looking to snatch Aleksandar Mitrović from Fulham, according to reports in Serbia. Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City, Southampton and Everton have all been credited with interest in the striker.
They spent a lot of money last summer and assembled a squad that, at least on paper, looked quite decent, but they utterly fell short of the mark and failed to secure Premier League survival. Nonetheless, there is still some individual talent in there worth a peck for the clubs staying up, as well as top tiers elsewhere.
Telegraf, a Serbian outlet, report that Milan and their head coach Gennaro Gattuso plan to sign Mitrović in order to pair him up with Krszysztof Piatek up front. The Serbian’s physical presence and ability to engage defenders in battle should help Piatek find some space and not look isolated in attack.
Meanwhile, the report claims the Rossoneri are also interested in Fulham midfielder Jean-Michael Seri.
