Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport has learned that AC Milan are the latest high-profile side to have joined the chase for Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira.
The Germany international will be out of contract in the summer and he is widely expected to leave los Blancos in the January window.
Premier League giants Arsenal are believed to be in pole position at the moment, but AC Milan seem ready to challenge the Gunners for the player’s signature.
With Nigel de Jong’s long-term future in doubt, the Rossoneri plan to add another holding midfielder to their ranks, with Khedira apparently high on their wish list.
At the same time, Milan continue to keep close tabs on Benfica star Eduardo Salvio, as they reportedly have the first option on the Argentine winger.
The Rossoneri returned to winning ways in Serie A as they defeated Chievo 2-0 and they are priced at 1/1 to see off Hellas Verona on the road as well.
