Milan keeping tabs on Montpellier captain

AC Milan are readying bid for Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Rossoneri are searching for defensive reinforcements following departure of Alessandro Nesta and Thiago Silva, even if they have already signed Francesco Acerbi from Chievo.

After showing interest in Porto centre-back Rolando, Milan are now considering a move for Montpellier captain Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa.

The 23-year-old is currently the only Montpellier player allowed to leave the club if the right offer comes along and he is valued at around €6 million.

Despite his fragile age, Yanga-Mbiwa already has five first team seasons behind him and he is looking to leave MHSC after leading them to the Ligue 1 title last term.

The highly rated defender has scored 4 goals in 170 league games for the French side.
