Milan in late move on Douglas Costa

AC Milan are weighing up a late bid for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Douglas Costa, Tuttosport has revealed.

The Rossoneri plan to sign another attacking midfielder by the end of the summer transfer window and they have apparently made the Brazilian their top target, with Alessio Cerci and Ezequiel Lavezzi unlikely to arrive at San Siro.

Shakhtar’s €25 million asking price is a major issue, but Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani hopes that the figure will be decreased in the final days of the transfer window.

The Rossoneri aim to pay around €10 million up front while including numerous performance related bonuses in the deal.

Douglas Costa, 23, has spent last four and a half years at Shakhtar, making 121 league appearances and scoring 25 goals in the process.

His admirers AC Milan start the new league campaign at the end of August by hosting Lazio, with home win paying 10/11 at the moment.
