Milan lead chase for PSG’s Alex

AC Milan are in pole position to sign Brazilian defender Alex from Paris Saint-Germain, reports L’Equipe.

The highly rated centre-back will be out of contract in just over a month and while he was hoping to remain at Parc des Princes, everything suggests he will be leaving this summer.

With PSG set to wrap up the deal to sign David Luiz, even coach Laurent Blanc confirmed yesterday that Alex was set to leave.

According to L’Equipe, AC Milan and Galatasaray have expressed their interest in the 31-year-old, but the Rossoneri seem to be leading the chase at the moment.

The Serie A side are strapped for cash after failing to qualify for Europa League and they are unlikely to pass up an opportunity to sign such a good player free of charge.

In spite of some impressive displays for the French giants, Alex has missed out on Luiz Felipe Scolari’s World Cup squad, but the Seleccao remain 11/4 favourites for the trophy.
