Milan line up Balotelli replacement
AC Milan are looking at three players as they look to sign a natural successor to Liverpool-bound Mario Balotelli, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Italy international is set to complete a £16 million switch to Anfield, leaving the Rossoneri to desperately search for his replacement.
La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed that AC Milan have made FC Porto’s Jackson Martinez the number one target.
The Rossoneri have opened talks for the Colombian striker and they are prepared to offer around €20 million for the player’s services.
And while Martinez’s release clause has been lowered from €40m to €30m, the Dragons are unlikely to accept any proposal below the said amount.
Should they fail in the attempts to sign the Colombia star, AC Milan officials will turn towards Andre-Pierre Gignac and Alvaro Negredo.
Besiktas back in for Ruiz
Turkish daily newspaper Fanatik understands that Besiktas are set to launch a fresh assault on Fulham forward Bryan Ruiz.
The Black Eagles are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements and they have been hot on the trail of the Costa Rica star.
And even if it looked just few days ago as though Ruiz would be joining Werder Bremen, the Bundesliga side have confirmed they have puled out of the race.
As a result, Besiktas are expected to step up their interest in the highly rated forward and add him to their ranks in the coming days.
Despite failing to prove his worth at Fulham, Ruiz has managed to get his career back on track during a loan spell with PSV before impressing for Costa Rica at the 2014 World Cup.
His admirers Besiktas were held by Arsenal to a goalless draw in the first leg of the Champions League play-offs, and are now 9/1 to win at the Emirates.
Marseille join race for Stambouli
French giants Marseille have emerged as the latest contenders for Benjamin Stambouli’s signature, L’Equipe has learned.
The highly rated midfielder, who has another year left on his deal with la Paillade, is widely tipped to leave for greener pastures this summer.
Swansea and Fiorentina have recently submitted offers for his services, while Marseille are the latest side to have matched Montpellier’s €5 million asking price.
Stambouli reportedly prefers a move abroad having spent his entire career so far in French Ligue 1, but la Paillade will be hoping to sell him to the highest bidder.
The 24-year-old has amassed a total of 112 league appearances for the club, scoring 3 goals in the process.
He is predicted a bright future in the game and everything suggests he will be leaving Montpellier in the coming days.
