AC Milan have shown interest in FC Basel goalkeeper Yann Sommer, Tuttosport has revealed.
The Rossoneri are searching for a long-term replacement for veteran keeper Christian Abbiati and they have singled out the Switzerland international as one of their top targets.
The Italian giants plan to keep a close eye on the player’s performances during this season with a view of making an official bid next summer.
The 23-year-old has came through the youth ranks at Basel, but only made a first team debut after spending one and a half seasons on loan at Vaduz.
Last season, Sommer finally managed to break into the starting line-up and has been in impressive form ever since.
The player has made a total of 54 league appearances for the Swiss giants, while he was handed a national team debut in a friendly defeat to Romania.
