AC Milan beat Brazilian outfit Vasco da Gama 4-3 in their 2011 beach soccer Club World Cup tie in Sao Paulo.
Vasco took the lead after seven minutes via a Betinho free-kick, before Swiss goal-scorer Meier proved his worth with an equaliser after 15 minutes from an acute angle.The Italian club went ahead when Stankovic netted four minutes later, but the Brazilians restored parity through Bruno Xavier.The game took another twist as Pampero but Vasco ahead, but Ahmed equalised for Milan on the half-hour mark.Meier’s second goal handed his side a lead they would not surrender, and it proved to be the goal that clinched their first victory of their campaign.Both sides qualified for the knockout quarter-final stage with the result, with Vasco to face fellow Brazilian outfit Corinthians in the final eight, while Milan take on Lokomotiv Moscow.
