Milan prepare summer clearout

Italian giants AC Milan are set to completely overhaul the playing squad this summer, Il Corriere dello Sport can reveal.

The Rossoneri owner Silvio Berlusconi has been very disappointed with team’s performances this season, and quite a few players will pay the price for poor showings this term.

Il Corriere dello Sport claims that Philippe Mexes, Alex, Cristian Zapata, Kevin-Prince Boateng and Mario Balotelli will all be allowed to leave San Siro in the summer.

Diego Lopez is another senior player linked with a summer exit, but the latest reports suggest that captain Riccardo Montolivo will be offered a new deal having fared pretty well after recovering from injury.

With several high earners set to leave and few more players likely to be sold, AC Milan hope to raise around €60 million this summer, which they will immediately reinvest in an attempt to finally out together a formidable squad.
