Milan reject Barca approach for Romagnoli

AC Milan have rejected an approach from Barcelona for talented defender Alessio Romagnoli, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

With Javier Mascherano the latest defender to be linked with a summer exit, the Catalans are desperate to add a couple of stoppers to their ranks in the summer transfer window.

And while they are also looking at Aymeric Laporte, Marquinhos, Samuel Umtiti and John Stones, it is believed that Alessio Romagnoli is near the top of their wish list.

However, even though they could use the extra cash to balance the books, the Rossoneri are adamant that the former AS Roma youngster is not for sale.

AC Milan paid top dollar for the footballer’s services last summer and they want him to stay at San Siro for as long as possible.

Romagnoli made a switch to Milano following a successful loan spell at Sampdoria, and he went on to make 34 Serie A appearances.
