Milan reject Hertha’s Piatek bid

As reported by Sky in Italy, Hertha Berlin have just had an offer for Krzysztof Piatek rejected by AC Milan.

The Poland international was dubbed the ‘new Lewandowski’ during his days with Genoa, for which he scored 19 times in 21 games in the first half of the 2018/19 season. His form hasn’t been nearly as good since he joined the Rossoneri in January 2019. This season, the striker only found the opposition net five times in 20 appearances. Milan recently re-signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic to help their cause, and apart from the experienced Swede, the likes of Raphael Leao and Ante Rebic both seem to be ahead of Piatek in the pecking order as well.

The 24-year-old has been linked heavily with Tottenham Hotpur who are looking for a player to provide cover for the injured Harry Kane, as there has been mention of Chelsea interested as well.

Nonetheless, it appears that the first concrete move for Piatek’s services came from Hertha, but Milan deemed the Bundesliga side’s offer too low.
