AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has revealed a deal could yet be done for Catania striker Maxi Lopez.
Milan were close to signing Lopez earlier this month, but cooled on the Catania man in favour of Manchester City attacker Carlos Tevez.
But with Tevez looking unlikely to head to the San Siro, Galliani revealed the club had renewed its interest in Lopez, agreeing to terms with the player and with Catania.
“The situation is very simple. We have an agreement with Catania and with the player. It seems he’s already in Milan, but we’ll see. A medical? Let’s stay calm, we’ll wait for a few more days,” Galliani told the club’s official website.
“If Tevez doesn’t arrive, we’ll sign Maxi Lopez. He’s a player who interests us a lot. We won’t sign them both though. It’s either one or the other.”
Catania already revealed on Sunday that Lopez was on the verge of leaving the club, and the Argentine could complete his move to the Serie A champions shortly.
