AC Milan look set to challenge local rivals Inter Milan for the signature of Benfica defender Victor Nilsson Lindelof, according to Record.
The Nerazzurri appear to be leading the chase for the Swedish centre-back and they have already watched him in action on several occasions.
Considering that Inter Milan boss Frank de Boer is far from happy with his defensive options, he is expected to make a move on the 22-year-old in the January window.
However, reports from Italy suggest that AC Milan have joined the race as well, while Paris Saint-Germain and few other top clubs are also keen.
It has to be noted that Inter Milan sporting director Piero Ausilio has an excellent relationship with Lindelof’s agent Fali Ramadani, and that should give the Nerazzurri the upper hand in the race.
The Sweden international has quickly become one of Europe’s most sought-after footballers, even though he had begun last season on the Benfica bench.
