AC Milan are preparing a move for Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer, according to Sky in Italy.
The young centre-back came through the youth ranks at Lillestrom SK, before moving to IK Start in the top tier of his homeland in 2014. Two years later, he made his move to Scotland to join Celtic, and he spent the second half of 2016/17 on loan at Kilmarnock. Last season, he made a total of 49 appearances for the Scottish champions in all competition and has already added seven more this term, scoring and assisting once apiece. At the age of 22, he has 16 international caps for Norway.
Ajer’s representatives asked Celtic for a valuation of his services last month, as they seek to secure a move elsewhere. Milan have been considering a swoop all summer with head coach Stefano Pioli keen to add him to his defensive ranks, and they are expected to contact his club with an offer of around €16 million at some point early next week.
