According to reports in Italy, AC Milan are seriously interested in signing Emre Can from Juventus.
The German has had a pretty rough time in Turin since his arrival from Liverpool as a free agent in 2018. He had hoped for a role more prominent than the one he had at Anfield, as well as certainty for winning trophies with Juventus, but he has fallen very low in the pecking order for a midfield spot under Maurizio Sarri.
According to SportMediaset, Milan’s interest existed last summer, but the 26-year-old was certain he would have a role to play in Turin yet. But on September 3rd, right after the transfer window was closed, he was left out of the 25-man list of players registered to appear in the Champions League. It was a blow he apparently hasn’t recovered from.
The report claims Milan’s enduring interest has his attention now. He is held in high esteem by chief football officer Zvonimir Boban and technical director Paolo Maldini, and he is very keen on securing regular game-time in order not to lose his place in the Germany squad ahead of Euro 2020.
