AC Milan are interested in signing Atletico Madrid’s Diego Godin, according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport.
The seven-time European champions haven’t been quite themselves in the last several years, and at the moment they are working hard to try and get beck to the very top. They’ve made it their priority to reach the Champions League next season, and they have been investing serious amounts of money into their squad.
They’ve now apparently set their sights on Godin as they feel the experienced centre-back would do a lot to stabilize their back line.
The 32-year-old Atletico captain started his career 15 years ago Cerro, in his homeland of Uruguay, where he played three seasons before moving to Nacional. In 2007 he arrived to Spain, and after another three years he signed for his current club. So far, he has accumulated over 360 games and found the opposition net 24 times for Atleti, and he helped them to one La Liga title, one Copa Del Rey trophy, one Europa League trophy and two Champions League finals. He’s also been capped 125 times for Uruguay, and was reportedly targeted by Manchester United during the summer.
