Roma striker Marco Borriello is nearing a switch to Milan, according to Italian daily La Stampa.
The 30-year-old, who spent last six months on loan at Juventus, doesn’t feature in Zdenek Zeman’s plans for the new season and is likely to be sold this summer.
The experienced forward is followed by a number of top Serie A sides, but his hefty wage has put off a number of suitors.
La Stampa claims that Milan are pondering a move for Borriello given that the Rossoneri are short of options in attack following the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The Serie A giants are not in a hurry and they could wait until the final days of the transfer window when the prices will inevitably decrease.
However, that could prove a risky maneuver with Genoa already expressing interest in the highly rated striker.
It was at Stadio Luigi Ferraris that Borriello played his best season yet, scoring 19 goals in 34 Serie A appearances for the Rossoblu.
