According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport, Serie A side Lazio are set to offer Sergej Milinkovic-Savic a brand new contract. This comes after extended interest from both Inter Milan and Manchester United, with neither side being able to get a deal of any kind over the finish line. Lazio have made it clear that they want to try their best to keep hold of their star man, but the majority of fans and media members alike have been second guessing their ability to do so.

His current contract is set to expire in summer 2023, and while that is still four years or so away, Lazio clearly don’t want to take their chances.

Milinkovic-Savic could easily have his pick of high level European sides to move to, but it doesn’t appear as if he’s quite ready to close the chapter on his Lazio spell just yet – and fair play to him.
