Another transfer saga might be officially coming to an end. After months and even years of rumours about his potential departure, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic will be staying at Lazio. After the previous claims in early September that the Serbia international is ready for a new contract extension, the latest news are now in regards to when that new deal might become official.
According to Il Messaggero, Milinkovic-Savic will sign a contract extension with Lazio by December. The midfielder started his season in a strong fashion at Lazio, with a couple of brilliant assists for his teammates. His passes for Ciro Immobile last month and Adam Marusic on Sunday were exquisite and Lazio want to be sure they will be keeping the Serbian for longer.
Sergej was previously rumoured to be a target for Manchester United last summer, but Paris Saint-Germain as well, however this new deal, which could run until 2024, should ward off any interest in the talented midfielder.
