FC Porto’s Eder Militao has been linked with Real Madrid since before the turn of the year, and the move might happen in the summer. AS claim the defender’s agent spoke to them about it, and explicitly said they weren’t ruling out a move to Real Madrid after the season’s end.
He did, however, rule out a deal in January, which could apparently cost Real an extra €25 million should a deal be struck. Militao’s contract, which doesn’t expire before 2023, contains a buyout clause currently set at €50 million, but if he stays with the Portuguese club after January 31st, it will rise to €75 million, as the Spanish outlet’s report claims.
With injuries constantly besieging Raphael Varane and Jesus Vallejo, Real are desperate to add a young, quality centre-back to their ranks, as well as find a potential long-term replacement for the 32-year-old captain Sergio Ramos.
Manchester United have reportedly also expressed an interest in Militao, while Real see 23-year-old Espanyol defender Mario Hermoso as an alternative.
