Millwall double chance against Swansea 8/13 for Saturday’s Championship matchup

Competition: Championship

Market: Milwall double chance

Odds: 8/13 @ 888sport

Looking to pile even more pressure onto Swansea this weekend, Millwall will host the play-off contenders from behind closed doors on Saturday lunchtime.

Starting with the hosts, while many feel that Millwall might have left it too late to snatch a late play-off spot this season, The Lions are enjoying a real purple patch of late. Making a string of improvements after what was a sluggish start to the 2020/21 campaign, the South London outfit were last seen earlier in the week picking up a 2-1 win away at Stoke. Continuing to climb up the Championship table and smelling a chance to cause what many would bill as an upset in the capital this weekend, Gary Rowett’s side have won each of their last three second-tier matchups on the spin, including wins against Middlesbrough and Rotherham. More impressive, proving that their action-packed 3-2 defeat against local rivals QPR last month was just a minor blip, the former Birmingham boss has seen his side muster 12 points from just their last five Championship fixtures.

As for the visitors, hit with what was a huge shock defeat on home soil earlier in the week, Swansea suddenly find themselves in the midst of a Championship nightmare. Freefalling their way out of the automatic promotion spots and now sat 10 points adrift of finding a route back into the top-two with time ticking away, the South Wales outfit were last seen getting hit with a 1-0 loss against a managerless Preston. Enduring what has comfortably their worst run of the season so far, The Whites have in fact lost each of their last four second-tier matchups on the bounce and have shown some real issues in front of goal. Including a 3-0 drumming away at Bournemouth last month, Steve Cooper’s side have failed to find the net in almost 450 minutes of action.
