Milner closing in on new City deal

James Milner is close to signing a new deal with Manchester City, according to the Daily Star.

The midfielder, who moved to the Etihad Stadium from Aston Villa in 2010, had been linked with a move away from the Premier League champions with both Liverpool and Arsenal linked with a move to secure his services.

However, he has started the majority of City’s league games so far this season have made forty-four appearances in all competitions in the 2013/14 campaign.

During his time in Manchester, the 28 year old has won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup, while internationally he is by far the second most experienced outfield member of Roy Hodgson’s current squad though his only goal thus far came in a 4-0 win over Moldova two years ago.

He is in line to win his fifty-first cap against San Marino tomorrow evening, and can be backed at 7/5 to score at any time during the game.
