Catalan media outlet Mundo Deportivo is reporting that Barcelona are hot on the trail of Juventus playmaker Miralem Pjanic.
Preparing for life after Andres Iniesta, the Catalans seem determined to recruit a cultured midfielder this summer, and PSG hotshot Marco Verratti is their number one target.
However, in case the Saints refuse to negotiate his sale, Barcelona will turn their attention towards Miralem Pjanic.
The Bosnian continued the rich vein of form after leaving AS Roma for Juventus, producing 5 goals and 9 assists in 30 Serie A outings last season.
The Bianconeri chiefs will obviously not be too keen on letting their star player leave, but it is clear Barcelona stand a better chance of agreeing a deal for Pjanic than for Verratti.
