Mirko Valdifiori set for Napoli exit

Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport has learned that Napoli midfielder Mirko Valdifiori could be leaving Stadio San Paolo at the end of the season.

The highly rated footballer moved to Naples together with coach Maurizio Sarri and he began the season as a first team regular.

However, the Italy international quickly lost his place in the side to Jorginho and was never able to win it back.

And having made just six Serie A appearances this season, Valdifiori has expressed his desire to leave in search of first team football.

Napoli rejected a couple of offers for the 29-year-old in January as Maurizio Sarri didn’t want to let him go, but things could change at the end of the season.

Valdifiori appears to have struggled to prove his worth with the Azzurri having joined from minnows Empoli, but he, nonetheless, remained on the radar of top Serie A sides.
