Bundesliga Champions VfL Wolfsburg have confirmed the one-year contract extension for it’s Bosnia-Herzegovina playmaker Zvjezdan Misimovi?.

Misimovi?, who has played for Bayern Munich in the past, arrived at Wolfsburg from 1. FC Nürnberg, last summer.

During his one year stay at the Volkswagen Arena, Misimovi? has made 33 Bundesliga appearances, scored seven goals with numerous assists to his name.

“We have a very good team which will surely continue to improve. I feel at home here at VfL and want to continue to establish our club among the top teams,” said Misimovi?

Misimovi? had failed to gain regular action at first club FC Bayern Munchen before moving on to VfL Bochum, Nürnberg and then Wolfsburg.

The first time German titleholders’ coach, Armin Veh, has praised the creative influence of the 27-year-old, who provided 20 assists last season.

“Zvjezdan Misimovi? is one of the cornerstones of our team, not least because of his creativity on the pitch,” he said.

“Also, he is one of the best players in the Bundesliga when it comes to assists. We are very happy to have extended his contract for a further year.”
