Arsenal’s Japanese teenager Ryo Miyaichi says training alongside club legend Thierry Henry is a ‘priceless experience’ for him.
The 19-year-old winger told Arsenal.com that he had looked up to the Frenchman when he was growing up and could not believe he was now rubbing shoulders with him, after Henry joined Arsenal on a two-month loan deal from New York Red Bulls.
“It is a little strange. He was one of the players I really looked up to (when I was younger),” Miyaichi said.
“It’s a priceless experience to play and train alongside him.”
Miyaichi, who has been linked with a loan move away from the Emirates, said training alongside players like Henry was invaluable for him as he learns how to go about his trade.
“Every minute detail in the way he plays is quality. You look at everything he does and he’s an example to behold,” he said.
“I try to watch players like Henry in training and watch what they do. He’s the player I want to be like.”
