(GSM) – Real Salt Lake scored a last-gasp equaliser against Colorado Rapids to extend their unbeaten streak, while Columbus Crew came back from two goals down to snatch a point at New England Revolution.
After Los Angeles Galaxy’s defeat by New York Red Bull on Saturday, Real Salt Lake had a chance to go top in the MLS Western Conference but needed a win over Colorado to do so.
Instead, the Rapids drew first blood at Rio Tinto stadium as Conor Casey beat keeper Reynish in the 31st minute.
Real Salt Lake did limit the damage and extended their unbeaten streak to 11 games as Nat Borchers headed home from a long pass in the second minute of added time.
Eastern Conference leaders Columbus Crew experienced a difficult night at New England Revolution, who took a 2-0 lead with goals from Pat Phelan (2nd) andShalrie Joseph (56th).
But an own goal from Cory Gibbs gave the Crew renewed hope in the 62nd minute and Guillermo Schelotto converted a penalty kick with ten minutes to go for a 2-2 final result.
