The Los Angeles Galaxy extended their unbeaten run to seven games in Major League Soccer after a 0-0 draw with DC United on Friday.
The Galaxy could not find a winner without star attacker Landon Donovan, who is away on international duty with the United States, in front of their home crowd at The Home Depot Center in California, but still extended their lead on top of the Western Conference to eight points.
Midfielder David Beckham whipped in some tantalising crosses but the hosts failed to break the deadlock with forward Chad Barrett coming closest for the Galaxy when he headed wide in the second half.
United substitute Charlie Davies had the best chance of the match 10 minutes from time, rounding Galaxy goalkeeper Josh Saunders only to shoot wide while off balance.
DC United are now unbeaten in five games, but remain four points adrift of the first-placed Philadelphia Union.
