Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric has questioned why he’d ever leave the Spanish giants, as questions over his future continue. He called Real the best club in the world when asked about it, despite other reports suggesting that he was very interested in the idea of trying something new. The strongest rumour over the course of the last few months has been that he’d swap Spain for Italy with a move to Inter Milan, but Madrid reportedly blocked the move from becoming much of a reality.
The 33 year old is coming off the back of arguably the best year of his career, after helping Real win the Champions League once again while also guiding Croatia to the 2018 FIFA World Cup final. Modric’s stock has risen significantly with many referencing him as one of the best players in world football, and understandably, several big clubs around Europe have been sniffing around to see if they can land his signature.
