According to Corriere dello Sport, Luka Modric is believed to be a key part of Inter Milan CEO Giuseppe Marotta’s plans for the club in the next few years. Marotta joined Inter after leaving Juventus and he seems to have big plans for the Italian side, despite the fact that they crashed out of the Champions League earlier this week.
While Toni Kroos has also been mentioned as a possible target for Inter, the links with Luka go way back. The Croatian international has been turning heads for years now but it was his performances in the 2018 FIFA World Cup that really did serve as proof that he’s one of the best players in the world.
Real Madrid were initially hesitant to selling him back in the summer but they seem to be much more open to the idea now, which can only mean good things for Inter.
Yes, he’s moving into the latter stages of his career, but Modric is still the kind of impact midfielder that you’d want in your side regardless of his age.
