According to a recent report from Marca, Luka Modric is set to sign a contract extension with Real Madrid. The new deal is set to see him remain at the Bernabeu until 2021, which follows the news that Toni Kroos has also signed an extension. For the longest time it seemed like Modric was destined to move away from Real, especially after last summer’s World Cup in Russia. The Croatian star was heavily linked with a move to Serie A side Inter Milan, but unfortunately for Inter, they were unable to get a deal done. Modric had one of the best years of his career last year and it seems to have opened the eyes of the Real higher-ups, including Zinedine Zidane. The French boss is set to make a series of changes during the summer transfer window this year, but it no longer seems like Modric is going to be one of those changes.
