According to a recent report from ESPN, Luka Modric has confirmed that he wants to retire at Real Madrid.

There had previously been a great deal of speculation surrounding the Croatian’s future at the Bernabeu, as has been the case for a few years now with many believing Inter Milan would be his next destination. As it turns out, though, the veteran midfielder wants to try and stay with Real for as long as he possibly can.

There’s a very good chance that he is now moving into the latter stages of his fantastic playing career but even with that being the case, you just never know what next step a player of his stature is going to take. Real Madrid themselves clearly value him and everything he’s done for the club, and while a bigger offer could come in during the January or summer transfer window, Modric himself seems to want to remain loyal.
