Perhaps it cannot be said of some of his teammates, but Mohamed Salah put in a top-class performance against Leeds United on Saturday as Liverpool started their title defence with a win in another thrilling game at Anfield. Three times Leeds came back from a goal down, but it was extremely hard to play against the Egyptian on the day.
Salah is now only the second player, after Teddy Sheringham in 1995, to score in four consecutive Premier League season openers, and he got there with a hat-trick.
This was a superb finish indeed.
