(GSM) – A goal from Morten Moldskred handed Norway a narrow 1-0 victory over Slovakia on Wednesday as the Slovaks prepare for this summer’s World Cup in South Africa.
The Slovaks came out rather sluggish in the first half, leaving coach Vladimir Weiss unhappy with the side’s performance.
In the second half, Slovakia improved and piled the pressure on Norway, but it was the Scandinavians that stunned them with the opener on 67 minutes.
Moldskred got deep inside the Slovakian penalty area, and after the home side failed to clear the ball out, he pounced for the strike past goalkeeper Jan Mucha.
Some fine play by Norway goalkepeer Jon Knudsen kept Slovakia out for the rest of the game, giving them the narrow victory.
Slovakia will play friendlies against Cameroon and Costa Rica in the build up to their Group F opener on 15 June in Rustenburg against New Zealand.
