Competition: Ligue 1
Market: Monaco win
Odds: 3/4 @ 888sport
Hoping to lay down another marker on their travels this weekend, Monaco will make the trip to the Stade Francis-Le Blé when they face off against Brest on Sunday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, managing to snatch a flattering point against defending champions Lille last weekend, there is no doubt that Brest will be desperate to build off of those positives. Only just about managing to extend on their Ligue 1 status last season thanks to a one-point buffer, Les Pirates once again find themselves at the heart of another relegation scrap. Opening up this weekend’s fixtures sat three points adrift of safety, Head Coach Michel Der Zakarian will know that his side face a stern test on home soil here. Showing a host of issues prior to October’s international break, Brest have now failed to win a single matchup across all format since opening the 2021/22 campaign. Likewise, it should also be noted, Sunday’s hosts suffered a 2-1 loss the last time they faced off against this weekend’s opponents.
As for the visitors, putting in another eye-catching display last weekend as Moncao claimed a thumping 3-1 win at home against Montpellier, the mood in Niko Kovač’s camp should be at a real high. With their sights firmly set on securing another European finish this season, the one-time Bayern Munich boss finds his side enjoying a real purple patch. Including a 2-1 victory away at Dutch outfit PSV on Europa League duties earlier in the month, Monaco have lost just one of their previous nine matchups across all formats, a run that stems back to September 11th. With France international Wissam Ben Yedder already racking up six Ligue 1 strikes so far this season, the Monégasques should be smelling a chance to lay down another marker here. Claiming that 2-1 win when they last faced off against Brest, we’re backing an away victory here.
