Monaco agree deal for Soualiho Meite

Ligue 1 champions Monaco are set to wrap up the deal for Zulte-Waregem midfielder Soualiho Meite, according to Het Nieuwsblad.

Expecting the departure of Tiemoue Bakayoko and Fabinho, the Principality club have already reinforced their midfield department with Youri Tielemans, and they will again be shopping in Belgium.

Namely, Het Nieuwsblad reports that AS Monaco have agreed transfer fee for Soualiho Meite, believed to be between €7m and €8m.

But, while the player’s current employers Zulte-Waregem are only entitled to 40% of the transfer fee, former club Lille will pocket 60%.

The 23-year-old left Lille for Zulte-Waregem in search of regular playing time and he made impressive 40 league appearances las term, scoring one goal.

Having proved his worth in Belgium, Meite is now set to return to France, joining the new Ligue 1 champions.
