AS Monaco have reached an agreement to sign Lyon wonderkid Willem Geubbels, according to Radio Monte Carlo.
The 16-year-old has rejected a professional contract offer from les Gones, but given that he still has one year left on his youth deal, his current employers have the final say.
Monaco had hoped to recruit the youngster on a cut-price deal, but it has now been revealed they have agreed to pay €20 million for the 16-year-old winger.
Having cashed in on Thomas Lemar and Fabinho, the Principality club need to reinforce their midfield department, and they seem to expect Geubbels to help straight away.
The France Under-17 international made two substitute appearances in Ligue 1 last term, while scoring 6 goals in 12 outings for the reserve side in France’s fourth tier.
