French giants Monaco appear to be winning the chase for Sporting Braga starlet Danilo Barbosa, according to Record.
The 19-year-old has largely impressed since joining the Portuguese side from Vasco da Gama last summer, and he quickly became regarded as one of world’s most talented footballers.
And having also been in fine form while playing for Brazil at the Under-20 World Cup in New Zealand, Barbosa looks set to join a top European side this summer.
While Valencia are also keen on his services, the latest reports suggest that Monaco have emerged as favourites for the youngster’s signature.
The Principality club have turned their attention towards young and talented footballers and they recently recruited Thomas Lemar from Caen, while Ivan Cavaleiro and Helder Costa are nearing a switch to Stade Louis II as well.
And if they also manage to lure Danilo Barbosa to the club, Monaco coach Leonardo Jardim will be spoilt for options in the centre of the park.
