According to a report from Sky Sports, Chelsea and Monaco are close to confirming a deal for Cesc Fabregas. The 31 year old midfielder has made no secret of the fact that he wants to be playing regular first team football, and that simply hasn’t been the case for a while now. Some fans believe that he’s past his best, whereas others are of the belief that he can still do a job at a lot of top European clubs.
His contract is set to expire at the end of the season, meaning that now is as good of a time as any for him to move on. He’d be reuniting with former Arsenal teammate Thierry Henry if he did make the jump over to the Ligue 1 club, which you’d have to imagine will play some kind of role in his eventual decision.
Fabregas has played just six times in the Premier League this season.
