Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has moved to confirm that Atletico Madrid are in pole position to sign Brazilian midfielder Fabinho.
The 24-year-old has been one of the club’s star performers for several years now and he is being heavily linked with a summer exit.
While Paris Saint-Germain are also keen on his services, Fabinho seems to be nearing a switch to Atletico Madrid.
“We have to wait for the right offer, we will never let a player leave without a good offer,” Monaco chief Vadim Vasilyev told SFR Sport.
“Atletico are not the only club that have shown interest.”
Fabinho has performed at a very high level over the last three seasons, scoring 22 goals in 105 Ligue 1 outings.
Monaco seem to have decided to cash in on their star player, but they will not be selling him on the cheap, that’s for sure.
