Ligue 1 high-flyers Monaco have confirmed reports suggesting that top European clubs are hot on the trail of Portuguese winger Bernardo Silva.
The 22-year-old has been one of quite a few Principality club footballers to have impressed this season, and he does appear to be the most expensive player in the squad.
Chelsea and few other top clubs are believed to be keen on his services, and Monaco vice-chairman Vadim Vasilyev has now confirmed Bernardo Silva is in high demand.
“Yes, yes. I really don’t want to go into details, but for all our major players, we do have interest from major European clubs,” Vasilyev confessed to The Times.
“This is not the right time to talk about it. Let’s finish the season and then we can look at our project for next season. Me, the coach and the players are focused on this season.”
Bernardo Silva has managed 6 goals and 5 assists in 25 league appearances this term and it was his late goal in the title derby against PSG that ensured Monaco remained in the driving seat.
The highly rated footballer has scored a total of 22 Ligue 1 goals since joining from Benfica two and a half years ago and there is a chance he will be leaving the club for greener pastures at the end of the season.
