Portuguese daily newspaper O Jogo has learned that French giants Monaco are keeping close tabs on Benfica footballers Ezequiel Garay and Andre Gomes.
The French club had their scouts present at the Europa League match between Benfica and AZ Alkmaar this Thursday, with both players spending full ninety minutes on the pitch.
According to O Jogo, Monaco scouts were satisfied with the performance of their targets and the Principality club could be stepping up their interest in the coming weeks.
Ezequiel Garay has been recently linked with Tottenham and Zenit, and he is likely to be one of the most sought-after defenders in the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Andre Gomes is held in high regard by top European clubs despite failing to establish himself as a first team regular at Estadio da Luz.
The 20-year-old has, however, impressed during team’s Europa League campaign, starting five matches for the Eagles in this year’s competition.
