French giants Monaco are keeping close tabs on Vitoria Guimaraes defender Paulo Oliveira, reports A Bola.
With starting centre-backs Ricardo Carvalho and Eric Abidal not getting any younger, the Principality club are looking to add some fresh blood to their back line.
And they aim to do so by signing Portuguese stopper Paulo Oliveira from Vitoria Guimaraes, according to A Bola.
Monaco are not the first high-profile club to be linked with the 22-year-old as Brazilian giants Santos earlier attempted to secure his signature.
However, with Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev already in Portugal to try and lure Oliveira to Stade Louis II, it appears the deal will be wrapped up even before the summer transfer window opens.
Paulo Oliveira came through the youth ranks at Vitoria Guimaraes and went on to make 77 league appearances for the club.
He is currently regarded as an important member of Portugal Under-21 side and has started five games in the 2015 Euro qualifiers.
