Monaco in pole position for Falcao; Napoli find Cavani replacement

hot-transfer-newsMonaco in pole position for Falcao

Spanish TV station La Sexta is reporting that Monaco have moved to the front of the queue for Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao.

The Colombian is likely to be one of the hottest commodities in the summer transfer window and it appears Atletico won’t be able to keep hold of their star player.

And while Falcao continues to be linked with top European clubs, Spanish La Sexta understands that Monaco are closing in on the highly rated forward.

According to the same source, the French giants are prepared to meet the player’s €60 million release clause as they will have around €200 million to spend in the summer transfer window.

It remains to be seen whether Falcao would be interested in a move to Monaco, who plan to follow in the footsteps of Paris Saint-Germain and find a shortcut to glory.

The Colombia international has done well to prove he is rightly considered one of the world’s best strikers, managing 33 goals in 38 competitive appearances for los Colchoneros this term.

Napoli find Cavani replacement

Italian newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport has learned that Napoli are stepping up their efforts to sign Roma striker Pablo Daniel Osvaldo.

It is still uncertain whether Edinson Cavani will be leaving at the end of the current campaign, but the Azzurri want to be prepared should the Uruguayn decide to quit Stadio San Paolo.

Napoli officials have spent last couple of months searching for a suitable replacement and they seem to have found their man in Roma’s Pablo Osvaldo.

The Italy international is out-and-out striker just like Cavani and has proved he can score goals on regular basis in Serie A.

With Roma looking to cash in on the forward in the summer, Napoli seem to have a very good chance of signing Osvaldo.

The 27-year-old has scored 16 goals in 27 league matches this season and the only reason he is not getting the acclaim he deserves is his unprofessional behaviour.

Libor Kozak on Sporting radar

Sporting Lisbon are lining up a bid for Lazio striker Libor Kozak, Portuguese daily O Jogo has revealed.

The Lions are hoping to sign a replacement for star striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who is set to join Norwich in the summer transfer window.

They have been looking at a number of players, but it appears a move for Lazio hotshot Libor Kozak is being touted.

Sporting have experienced some financial difficulties of late and they cannot afford to spend a lot of money in the summer transfer window.

Libor Kozak is a cheaper alternative to some of their other targets and he is believed to possess the quality to successfully replace Van Wolfswinkel.

The 23-year-old has seen little playing time in Serie A this season, but he has largely impressed in club’s Europa League campaign, netting 10 goals in 11 appearances.

Seeing as how Miroslav Klose and Sergio Floccari are still in front of him in the pecking order, Kozak would probably jump at the opportunity to join Sporting.
