Radio Monte Carlo is reporting that Monaco are stepping up their efforts to sign Stoke City midfielder Gianelli Imbula.
The 24-year-old joined the Potters in a €24 million deal from FC Porto some 18 months ago, but he has failed to justify the hefty price tag.
A return to France now seems on the cards and after Nice had expressed their interest, Monaco were the next side to join the chase.
According to Radio Monte Carlo, Leonardo Jardim is a big fan of the player and he has been trying to persuade him to move to Stade Louis II.
Monaco would also need to find an agreement with Stoke City, who seem keen to cut their losses on Imbula.
