Monaco in talks with Slimani

Leicester City have lost Shinji Okazaki this summer, as the Japanese forward has decided to move to Spanish Segunda and now another of their strikers is expected to be on the way out. Islam Slimani is in talks with AS Monaco, regarding a move to Cote d’Azur. Reports in France are claiming the Algerian forward is negotiating with the Ligue 1 club, as his time in Leicester City was not a joyful one.

Slimani arrived at King Power Stadium in the aftermath of their shocking Premier League title-winning season, but has failed to impress. The 31-year-old still has a contract with Leicester, until June 2021, but his time at the club was cut short by loans to Fenerbahce and Newcastle United.

Now, the definitive move away from the club is on the cards and Leicester would be happy to recoup some money on him. Slimani already played under Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim six years ago, when the two were at Sporting Lisbon.
